Food drive nets more than a ton Recent community collection efforts have produced more than a ton of food for West Valley food banks. Webelo, Cub and Tiger Cubs from Sheridan Pack 215 collected 2,108 in Sheridan and received cash dona- tions of $130 in Saturday's food drive, according to Wilma Nisly, West Valley Food Bank manager. Newly organized Willamina Pack 254 collected 547 cans of food the same day in Willamina, according to Pansy Borck, representing the Wiilamina VFW Christmas basket program. Area wood products workers, who have been challenged by Boise Cascade employees to donate food items to help restock local food banks, donated 634 lbs. Times incorrect for Sheridan classes Times published last week for a series of wellness workshop pro- grams to bc beamed by satellite to Sheridan High School were Central Standard Time, not Pacific time. Patrons who wish to view the wellness programs should arrive two hours earlier than the times published. Patrons should also tell coordinat- ors that they plan to see the pro- grams. Wednesday, November 27, 1991, The Sun 3 Yule drawing winners told The first winners in the $1,000 "Cash for Christmas" drawings have been announced b the West Valley Chamber of Commerce. Herb Carpenter and N. Klein of Willamina and Patti Swift and Dave Spencer of Sheridan each won $25. More winning tickets will be drawn this Saturday. Tickets are available from participating mer- chants listed on Page 14. Winners will be announced each week in The Sun. The chamber of commerce is also making plans for Santa Claus visits in both Sheridan and Willamina. A special "Call Santa Hotline" is also planned in addition to Christ- mas tree lighting ceremonies in both towns. Details on these events will be published in next week's edition.
