Lillian The Little Dogs' Howl News from Villamina Elementary School Students learn about the Democratic Process Third graders in Mrs. Hickerson's class studied the democratic process, and combined their study with art. Each student had to draw two identical shoes, and use "bubble letters" in their drawing. Then they held an election to determine the top drawings, using secret ballots -- so as not to be .influenced by others' opinions, using what they had learned about the democratic process. Third place was a tiei Halloween Fun Deer Meadow hosts Halloween Party on Oct. 31 Deer Meadow Assisted Liv- hag, 1350 W. Main St. ha Sheri- dan is holding a Halloween Party for kids 12 and under from 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 31. There will be lots of candy as well as games, prizes, coloring pages and cupcake decorating. Trunk or Treat, pet costume contest planned in Willamina Willamina's Trunk or Treat will be Thursday, October 31 ha the parking lot behind Center Market from 4:30 to 6 p.m. All are invited to come, dress up your trunk and yourself, hand out candy and have a great time. Donate two non-perishable food items or cash and receive a free hot dog and drink (while supplies last). The food drive will benefit the soup kitchen at the Free Methodist Church in Willamina. SJS Halloween Family Fun Night rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 1 Due to the closure of the Green Bridge on Saturday, Oct. 26, the Sheridan Japanese School has rescheduled its Hal- loween Family Fun Night for Friday, Nov. 1. It will be held from 5-8 p.m. and will include games, prizes, candy and fun for everyone. Activities will include ?umpkin bowling, cake walk and haunted house. Tickets are 25 cents each or 6 for $2. The event will take place at the Sheridan Japanese School, 430 SW Monroe. Sheridan Chamber hosts held from 6-7 p.m. on Oct. 31. Trunk or Treat in Sheridan on Halloween Children are invited to Trunk or Treat at the Sheridan Church of the Nazarene from 6 to 8 p.m. on Halloween. The church is located at 917 S. Bridge St. SHS Boosters trick or treating and Student, at Sheridan High Council hold haunted house The halls of Sheridan High ;chool will once again echo vith the sounds of children as hey go down scary hallways tom room to room trick or rearing. The annual event will be Visit the Haunted House sponsored by Sheridan Boost- ers and Student Council from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 at Sheridan High School. The cost is $3 per person.
