HERIDAN BRIEF8 Mr. and Mrs. John Gutbrod were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Sponale in Portland. Mrs. Dean Holmes, Linda and Mary were Friday over- night guests of Mrs. Blythe O'Brien and daughters in Port- land. Mr. and Mrs. Charlle sharer, Raymond and Pete attended the NCAA regionalbasketball play- offs in Corvallis Friday and Sat- urday nights. After the games Friday, they went on to Eugene to spend the night and Saturday with the family of Charles Sharer Jr. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. (Sonny) Jones of Beaverton had a 7 pound, 5 ounce daughter, Colecn Erin, born March 12 in Port- ]and. She Joins a brothers Aubrey Will]am. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William O. Payne, while pater- nal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Lavender of Sher- idan. Mr. and Mrs. Pld/llp Brown and three cldldren of Medtord visited his mother, Mrs. Ches- ter Mulkey, over the weekend. H is now superintendent at a veneer plant at Wldte City, near Medford. Mrs. Josephine Leeper and daughter, Nancy, visited her aunt Mrs. Chester Muikey March 8. They came to vis- it her brother and family, the Allen Browns, but the Browns were in Portland at the same time to visit them. Mrs. Jean Enqtttst and three children of Portland are vis- Ring for a few days with her mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edson. Mr. and Mrs. George Wood of Oakland, Calif., are visRing Mrs. Wood's parents, Mr, and Mrs. Ernie Ctmningham, near Buell and with Mrs. Wood's brother and family, the Carl NeLsons in Wl]lamina. Mr. and Mrs. Wood have bought a home near Sheridan and when Mre Wood returns from the service in July they wfl/ make theix home here. In the meantime, Mrs. Wood will remain at the home of her parents. Ernie Ctmntngham, who has been employed by the govern- ment In KwaJaHen, M.L for the past 17 months, returned home Saturday and with his wife left Wednesday for Canada for a month's vacation.
