Girls Set 'Birthday' Events Here A variety of activities have been outlined by Sheridan-area Girl Scout leaders at a Tues- day night meeting for Girl Scout Week, slated March 8 through 14. Girls participating in the week of activities include Brownie members and Girl Scouts from the Junior, Senior and Cadet groups. Activities planned include a swimming party at the McMinn- ville Pools from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, while a Girl Scout Breakfast is plan- ned for Sunday morning from 9 to 9:.30 a.m. Following the breakfast at the American Legion hall, all girls attending will go to church at the Sheri- dan Christian church. For the breakfast, the girls' leaders will serve. Each troop of girls will hold its own observance for the Thursday, March 12, birthday of Girl Scouting A Father-Daughter banquet will round-out the week of events, according to leaders. Slated at 6:30 p.m. at the Chap- man Grade school gymnasium, the banquet will feature a theme of "Girl Scouting Around the World." Each troop will furn- ish an entertainment Skit for the dinner, which the mothers will serve Tickets are 50 cents each. The girls v-ill be starting work on the table mats and center pieces in the near future, it was reported. Fellowship Sets Benefit Lunch Phil Sheridan Fellowship has set May 1 as the date for its benefit "Luncheon-Is-Served," with an advance ticket saletobe held. The Fellowship hopes to sell at least 125 tickets at 75 cents each. The Sheridan Chamber of Commerce is hoping to get a men's garden club started in the Sberidan-Wfllamlna area and invited the men members of the Fellowship to take part.
